What is Electrospinning?

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Electrospinning uses an electrical charge to draw very fine (typically on the micro or nano scale) fibres from a liquid – either a polymer solution or a polymer melt. Electrospinning shares characteristics of both electrospraying and conventional solution dry spinning of fibers.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The process does not require the use of coagulation chemistry or high temperatures to produce solid threads from solution. This makes the process particularly suited to the production of fibers using large and complex molecules. Melt electrospinning is also practiced; this method ensures that no solvent can be carried over into the final product.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces”][vc_column][vc_separator color=”custom” accent_color=”#e2e2e2″][vc_empty_space height=”1px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1478702218035{padding-top: 60px !important;padding-bottom: 60px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]
